From Omaha Beach to Saint Lô Tour

Starting at Omaha beach, we will follow the story and routes of the 29th Infantry Division to their most important objective in the first phase of Operation Overlord: the crossroads town of Saint Lô.

Omaha Beach

Covering the first waves of the Blue and Gray Division we share the story of the unit that suffered the heaviest casualties on D-Day. We will also visit the location where Brigadier-General Norman 'Dutch' Cota's leadership and inspiration was instrumental in breaking through the German defences.

La Cambe

Site of a provisional US cemetery created in June 1944, where a large number of troops of the 29th Infantry Division were buried. Since 1954 it has been a German cemetery.

Isigny-sur-Mer

Liberated by elements of the 175th Infantry Regiment and 747th Tank Battalion.

Colombières

Here we will cover the story of 29-ers crossed the flooded marshes in a surprise attack.

Le Carrefour

Location where the 2nd Bn, 115th Infantry Regiment, was ambushed on 10 June 1944.

Saint Clair sur l'Elle / Saint Jean de Savigny

Crossing the river Elle was a vital step in the advance towards Saint Lô. You will see the difficult terrain the soldiers of the 115th and 116th regiment had to cross and how the battles for the bridges across the river were so costly.

Villiers-Fossards

At Hill 102 we focus on the 175th Infantry Regiment's heroic stand.

Martinville Ridge

The eastern approach to Saint Lô by the 116th Infantry Regiment.

Saint Lô

We will enter the town exactly as it happened on 18 July 1944, following in the footsteps of Task Force C.
