Private day tour to Brittany American Cemetery & Mont St. Michel Excellent private day tour from Bayeux to the Brittany American Cemetery and Mont St. Michel. Our small group included the granddaughter of one of the heroes buried at the Brittany Cemetery. Our guide for the day, Mike van den Dobbelsteen, was wonderful. He did research in advance of our tour to familiarize himself with some of the details of the grandfather's experience and even went out of his way to take us to some of the locations where his unit saw action. Mike provided great insights to help us gain some perspective of the fighting which occurred in the area. Mike accompanied us on a brief next-of-kin graveside ceremony provided by the staff at the Brittany Cemetery. His patience and respect for the heroes resting at the cemetery were obvious. Mike also provided recommendations for touring Mont St. Michel which were helpful in navigating the popular site. Overall an incredible experience. I highly recommend Allied Victory Tours and especially Mike van den Dobbelsteen.

Amazing!!! Words can’t express how wonderful Mike’s tour was. We were a group of five. He arrived promptly at our Manoir The tour was all day with a lunch break. He asked about our wants and wishes for seeing the Normandy beaches/points of interest. The best part was he was willing to flex the itinerary for whatever we wanted. It was completely customizable. We loved everything about our day…we learned more in the time spent with Mike than I thought possible. I find myself thinking about the beaches almost every day since our return home. If you want the best private tour in Normandy, look no further than Allied Victory Tours!

American tour. My Wife and I spent 3 days with Mike and one day was for the American Tour. Mike is knowledgeable, prepared and an outstanding communicator. He has 10 years experience as a battle interpreter in Normandy. This tour is a full day with no short cuts. US airborne drop sites, Pointe Du Hoc, Utah Beach and American Cemetery were explored in great detail. Perfect day.

Moving and emotional day - EXCELLENT tour! We had an INCREDIBLE day with Mike from Allied Victory Tours. We did the full-day American D-Day tour and it was astounding. He is so knowledgeable and brought every place we went to life! It was a very moving day, and especially for me, the small church we visited where two young American medics saved so many lives with only two months of medical training. Mike is charming, kind, and we could not have asked for a better tour guide of the D-Day beaches and the surrounding areas. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

ABSOLUTELY BEST Tour ever taken!! We embarked on a 9 hour full day tour. We stayed 3 days in Bayeux and visited some D-day sites on our own. HOWEVER, even with research we had done previously, Mike provided additional extension information making our visit full circle and whole. The experience was nothing short of amazing, eye opening, informative and memorable, The drive in his comfortable vehicle visiting the villages, hedgerows, beaches, memorials and cemetaries was exceptional. It was worth every cent paid and highly recomend this experience. THANK YOU.

WWII Story Telling at it's Finest I booked this private tour for my husband but it ended up being a treat for us both. Mike is an exquisite storyteller with a gift for bringing history to life. He kept us thoroughly engaged throughout the day. I laughed, I cried and I learned. I found our time went by much quicker than I expected (and that is saying a lot for a 9 hour tour) and we were sad to say goodbye to our new friend when he dropped us back at our hotel. I would unreservedly recommend Mike's tours to ANYONE.

Absolutely magnificent experience - THE way to experience D-Day in Normandy This tour was amazing; Mike picked us up at our apartment and took us along the American landing beaches, Pointe du Hoc, Saint Mere Eglise and many more interesting places and spots... and of course all these you can look up yourself as well... what made it special is the stories and details that Mike brought in; he made us "live" Normandy's history focusing on D-Day of course but also sharing a lot of facts of the region, the months after 6-June, stories and details from veterans who he had the honor to meet, connecting with the whole family by e.g. making the link to movies and series about the landing / war. The whole family loved the full day experience!

THE BEST! This is the second year in a row I have used Mike to tour D-Day landing sites. This year we focused on American stories and places. It was an incredibly meaningful and educational day. There are many available guides in the area that stick to a provided script or can spout facts. Mike is a totally different type of guide. He is an EXPERT who shares stories of real men and women. He makes it personal and understandable for everyone. We had 18 people on our tour this year and everyone rated Mike a 5 out of 5, and our day with him as one of their favorites of our time in France.

Great Normandy Tour This tour was something I had been planning for a while and Mike met all my expectations. He was extremely knowledgeable of the sites we visited and included some that I am sure are not on any other tour. We had the added pleasure of staying at Mike and his wife Deborah's vintage B&B. They welcomed us into their home and were most gracious and giving. Not to be missed is Deborah's museum dedicated to the women who served in the military, Red Cross, womens voluntary mobile canteen services and much more.

Highly recommend Mike and the private American D-Day tour Mike is extremely knowledgeable about WW2 and the historical events in and around Normandy. We enjoyed our tour, learned a lot and highly recommend going on a private, guided tour with Mike. If you want to have the full experience, stay at their bed and breakfast, which is uniquely decorated in 1940's decor. Deborah serves a full delicious breakfast and in addition to being a lovely hostess, she is curating a museum dedicated to women of the armed forces during WW2.
